It seems like every time coach Nick Smith’s girls step onto a golf course, decades-old records fall.
And when it comes to significant records, is there anything that is more significant than the 18-hole scoring record as a team?
That mark was broken again by the Jets Saturday, with the top four AC girls teaming up to break 400 and shoot a 397 for seventh place as a team.

“This was the kind of round that shows how much potential this team has,” Coach Nick Smith said after the match. “All the girls felt like they were playing far from their best golf, but still turned out solid scores. Londyn set the tone, and seeing Adrienne step up with her career round was huge. For us to post our lowest 18-hole score in program history shows the depth we are building.”

Londyn Smith set the tone, as coach Smith said, with her round of 40-48 to finish in the Top 10 of the event, which featured 75 individual players. She tied her best 18-hole score from earlier in the year at Wabash Valley.
Smith carded two more birdies – one the sixth and another on the eleventh hole – to lead the way.

Johnson’s round saw her shoot 52 on the front and 46 on the back. Still getting used to playing 18 holes at the varsity level, Johnson figures only to get better as the season turns towards September.

The Jets will have a few days to practice this week before facing a familiar opponent in Southern Wells on the road Wednesday.
AC Scores: Londyn Smith 88, Adrienne Johnson 98, Tenley Hendricks 105, Lilly Johnson 106, Sophie Johnson 128
