Kaigan Lee struck out nine batters in five innings of work, keeping the Bellmont Braves in the game on a wet Friday night, but the Bishop Luers Knights used two successful bunts to break a 5-5 tie and go on to a 7-5 victory.

Lee homered in the fourth to break up a 2-2 tie, hitting a three-run bomb to center as part of a two-hit night.

A two-RBI triple by Jaxson Hill in the next half inning, however, cut the Bellmont lead to one and Hill scored two pitches later to tie the game right back up.

Bellmont had answered a two-run effort by Luers in the very first frame, with Matt Bleeke driving in two with a single.

Jack Schultz came on in relief of Lee after he allowed a leadoff single in the sixth. Schultz allowed the inherited runner to score and one of his own before getting out of the inning. He struck out one.

Layne LeMaster threw a clean top of the seventh inning and added a double and a single at the plate.

The loss dropped the Braves to 1-2 on the year.
