After giving up the opening set to New Haven (25-21), the Bellmont Braves took the first step in the right direction as a program by winning their very first set in school history against the Bulldogs, 25-22, but it was the visitors who ultimately won in a five-set match.

Coach Craig Krull made a lineup switch in the second set and the addition of freshman Luke Summers, a late addition to the team this season, made a huge difference. Summers played the final four sets and finished with five kills. He was the perfect complement to his older cousin, Cam, who finished with an incredible 25 kills. That record may stand for a while in the Bellmont program.

The two teams went all the way to a fifth set after New Haven ran away with the fourth and it was the Bulldogs who had just enough to claim victory.
Mason Mankey once again dominated from the service line, scoring seven aces, all while demonstrating his remarkable athletic ability. He dug out 20 balls over the five sets.

Gavin Krull had eleven kills in the loss, while Jack Johnson took the bulk of the passing, ending with 26 assists. Johnson also had five digs.
The match brought out a big crowd, both from the community and from the BHS students.
