After winning a conference title as a freshman at 106, O’Campo won another NE8 title as a junior a week after winning a third consecutive state title in the girls state tournament. O’Campo pinned Mills in the semifinal in 3:03, but Ben bounced back for a pair of falls to take third place.
113 pounds
1. Kealen Fuller-EN, 2. Karrington Cooper-NH, 3. Brayden Juday-L, 6. Ethan Curtis-B

120 pounds
1. Timmy Rocha-NH, 2. Sean Harris-L, 3. Henry Faurote-B, 4. Hunter Douglas-N
This weight went against the seeds with the top two seeds falling in the semifinals to the wrestlers seeded third and fourth. Sean Harris got revenge on Henry Faurote in the semis in a close match that was eventually a fall, but Faurote secured an extremely important win in the third-place match against Hunter Douglas of Norwell. That match will have major implications when the 120s are seeded Wednesday for sectional.

126 pounds
1. Nolan Butcher-L, 2. Jason Prough-N, 3. Drew Waldon-D
Butcher came out of nowhere to win this weight, beginning with a fall against Will Franze in the opening round. Franze ended up dropping out of the tournament without scoring a point after a loss to Cassidy from Columbia City. Norwell’s Jason Prough tried a comeback in the third period but could not get past Butcher, falling 8-7 in the championship bout.

132 pounds
1. Brayden Clauser-NH, 2. Connor Fojtik-N, 3. Tony Satyer-L, 4. Keven Loshe-B
The biggest upset of the opening round came at this weight when top-seeded Sawyer Teusch fell to Tony Satyer in a last-second fall. Teusch was pinned by Keven Loshe in the consolation semifinal and Satyer took third place with an overtime takedown against Loshe.

138 pounds
1. Chace Behning-N, 2. Lucas Barkley-NH, 3. Salomon Barnum-HN
The freshman Behning won the title as the No. 1 seed with a 4-3 decision against Barkley. Bellmont forfeited this weight.

144 pounds
1. Sam Wolpert-B, 2. Devon Spencer-HN, 3. Raymon Farris-CC
Wolpert’s toughest match on his way to the title was in the semifinal against Farris. That match was a marathon with several blood times, but Wolpert won it 10-8. Sam dominated Spencer from the top position with three different nearfall situations in the final two periods.

150 pounds
1. Rylee Biddle-EN, 2. Luke Teusch-HN, 3. Aidan Elkins-NH, 4. Blake Luginbill-B
Teusch was knocked from the ranks of the unbeaten in the finals as Biddle had a great tournament. Biddle defeated Luginbill 6-1 in the semis.

157 pounds
1. Gavin Davis-B, 2. Benjamin Barker-EN, 3. Max Wiler-L

1. Duke Myers-B, 2. Cody Cox-N, 3. Dallas Plattner-EN

Myers was all over Cox in the finals, claiming his third NE8 title and finishing his high school career with a perfect 9-0 record in the conference tournament. Cox knocked off #2 seed Dominic Dunn in the semis.

175 pounds
1. Xavior Palacios-B, 2. Eli Behning-N, 3. Graham Blythe-D

Xavior is halfway to becoming a four-time conference champion after avenging an earlier loss to Eli Behning in the finals.

After giving up the opening takedown against Behning, X got a reversal with seconds left in the first period. That was a key moment in the bout, especially after Palacios rode out the Norwell Knight for the two minutes of the second period. Palacios had choice in the third and got a reversal to go up 4-2 and hold on for the win.

190 pounds
1. Eli Coolman-L, 2. Cole Mendez-B, 3. Connor Leins-EN, 5. Wilson-N
Cole Mendez did what he does best, gutting out close victories en route to the championship bout. He needed overtime in the opening match and won 2-1 in the semis against Leins of East Noble, but the undefeated Coolman was too much, beating Mendez on his feet to three takedowns.
215 pounds
1. Keagan Martin-B, 2. Matt Poiry-NH, 3. Dylan Krehl-EN, 4. Ethan Michael-N
Martin had no issues with this field, rolling up three falls in a minute or less to win his second consecutive conference title.

285 pounds
1. Isaiah Coolman-L, 2. James Hartleroad-D, 3. Vincent Parke-CC, 6. Grady Baker-B

Coolman beat Hartleroad in a highly-anticipated battle in the finals, but it was Grady Baker who had the biggest win in the first round, knocking off Charles McGrant by fall. McGrant came all the way back to meet Baker in the fifth-place match and won 3-2, however.
