Joseph R. Hess, 78, of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Stillwater Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. He was born in Decatur on December 8, 1945, to the late Herbert and Julia (Colpert) Hess.
Joe was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. He is a retired pipe liner with John D. Stevens Construction in GA.
Joe loved spending his time outdoors, watching sporting events and fishing.
He is survived by his children, Kerry (Edie) Hess of Fort Pierce, FL, Shelly (Dan) Smith of Decatur and Scott (Cheryl) Hess of Decatur; a brother, Paul (Marlene) Hess of Decatur, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dan Hess.
Per Joe’s request, there will be no services.
