A birdie on the fourth hole of the Majorki Nine for senior Adrienne Johnson on a hot and sweaty night of golf was the highlight of an Adams Central victory over county rival Bellmont Tuesday.
Johnson’s three on the par-four No. 4 was the catalyst for a +5 round of 38 on the par-33 course and it was good enough for medalist honors by three strokes. Johnson, who took over the No. 1 spot on the team, was followed by Gracie Patterson’s 41. The freshman also had an outstanding round, the best of her career, by playing the two short par threes of No. 7 and No. 8 at par.
For Bellmont, the Braves got a top score of 44 from senior Kinley Martin, who played the four par threes at +3. Teammate Morgan Huss joined Martin in scoring a season-best round on the Majorki.
Livy Hackman had an oustanding round on the Braves’ JV team, shooting a 48, which was 11 strokes better than her previous attempt.
