Emmett Glenn put the Bellmont Braves in the top four of the team standings and himself in the top ten individually at Saturday’s Celina Rotary event, while Sydney Angel led the way for the girls, helping the team to a third-place finish.
The times for the Bellmont teams should also be placed in the context of having run in Wednesday’s 4K race on home soil and keeping in mind that the teams will run again on Tuesday.
Glenn’s time was his best of the season as he shaved 22 seconds from the time at Mississinewa last week.
Classmate and best bud Frank Heimann joined Glenn in setting a new career mark, cutting 36 seconds from last week.
Recording season bests for the Braves were Hudson Krull, Logan Whitacre, Landon Sielschott and Owen Adams.
Joe Kozlowski ran at a career pace and lowered his mark by .3 seconds.
Outside of the team’s top seven, several other runners had solid days. Freshman Trent Huser had his best effort so far in his career, as did Brandt Painter, Sebastian Heimann, Sam Juengel, Blake Metzger, Michael Penrod and Ben Goble.

For the Bellmont girls, it was Sydney Angel across the line first in 23:55.1.
Isabelle Buuck set a new career best and Makenna Rich cut over three minutes from her career mark for an impressive performance.
The Braves also got an outstanding performance from Elysia Niece in her first race of the season.
