The name “Krueckeberg” is widely known for its auctions and real estate work. Recently, though, the Decatur business was also involved in some rescue work.
When Bellmont High School’s Brave Generation show choir was gearing up for travel for competition, it was without a way to transport its equipment due to an issue with its large trailer.
So Krueckeberg Auction & Realty, through former Bellmonter Trevor Gray, stepped up with the loan of a trailer.

On January 31, the first day of the current show choir competition season, the Brave Generation’s trailer had an issue on a snowy road and needed repairs, according to BGs Director Jaime Macklin.
Facing a trip to Chesterton, the BGs were without a necessity – a trailer. A parent said they could secure a trailer, but that fell through at the last minute.
“My sister actually put out a post on Facebook about us needing one and it was shared a ton!” Macklin explained. “I had so many people and businesses reach out willing to help with either lending us equipment or sponsoring us to rent a trailer.
“Trevor Gray with Krueckeberg is a former student and he emailed and was able to drop one off …”
The trailer Gray – a vice president, auctioneer, and real estate broker with the Krueckeberg firm – brought was 14 or 16 feet long while the BGs’ trailer is a 20-footer.
“So we had to put some stuff in the back of the truck and on the bus, but we made it work,” Macklin exclaimed.
The incident with the trailer was noted at the recent city council meeting by Councilman Matt Dyer, who has a daughter in the show choir.
“Josh (Krueckeberg) and Trevor really stepped up and helped the school,” Dyer said. “Thanks for all you do to help our city and our school.”
The BGs are comprised of 18 singers/dancers and four crew members.
