STAFF REPORT
Teams in Z Land went 3-1 Saturday night, with Heritage and Adams Central scoring big away wins and the South Adams Starfires making it three wins in a week to push their record from 2-9 on January 24th to a positive 5-9 on February 1st.
Adams Central 63 Tipton 46
After a monumental collapse Friday night to Heritage, the Jets woke up Saturday morning and got back to work. A long road trip to Tipton left the team a bit tired and it showed in the first half. They went into coach McClure’s halftime talk trailing 22-18, but emerged for a 21-point performance in the third to seize the game, holding on for a margin of victory that was similar to the lead they held against Heritage in the fourth quarter Friday night.

Much of that hard work was done by Trace Maller. He had 13 points already at halftime, but had a memorable second half and finished with a whopping 40 total, going a remarkable 18 of 19 from the free throw line.
Braylend Reber finished with nine points, while Drew Johnson had seven and Cooper Steele added six.
The Jets have another long road trip scheduled Thursday at Fremont.
Heritage 58 Eastside 33
The Patriots jumped to 9-6 on the year with a less stressful victory over the Eastside Blazers, winning the non-conference tilt by 25.
Landon Lybarger, whose high-pressure free throws Friday won the game against AC, led the Patriots with 16 points. He knocked down a triple set of threes in the second quarter to give the Patriots a lead headed into halftime.

Braden Walter added 12 points in the victory for Heritage, who had nine players reach the scoring column.
Heritage will look for a third successive victory Thursday at Canterbury (6-8).
South Adams 31 Whitko 29
Coach Kyle Roe’s team seems to be trending in the right direction ahead of a big test at Woodlan Thursday as they won their third in a row Saturday, holding on at home to beat Whitko by two.
Tytus Lehman’s shot in the paint with just under two to play but South Adams up 29-26 and he knocked down two big free throws to put the game away in the final minute, finishing with a game-high 16 points.

Gavin Herring scored all eight of his points in the second half to help the Starfires overcome a 26-19 deficit going into the final quarter.
Leo 71 Bellmont 30
The Braves fell to 0-5 in the NE8 with a big loss to Leo on the road Saturday night.
