Kristin Lee Craig, 46, passed away from her loving circle of family and friends into the loving arms of God on September 3, 2026. A bright light who truly brought meaning to lighting up a room…she was beautiful, kind and caring and gone too soon from us. Kristin never met a stranger.
Kristin was born January 5, 1980, to James and Janice (Heritage) Craig in Muncie. She attended Selma and Delta schools, graduating from Delta High School in 1998. She was an active member of Delta Gamma Sorority and graduated from Butler University with honors in Journalism in 2002.
In 1998, she won the Delaware County Fair Queen pageant and went on to win Miss Indiana State Fair Queen that year. In 2001, she was the 500 Festival Queen, serving as the main ambassador for the 500 Festival and the Indiana Motor Speedway during the month of May. So needless to say fashion, jewelry and shopping were valued hobbies. Her outfits always looked better on her than you could see on yourself and no one knew the color wheel better than she.
Kristin is survived by her parents; sister and best friend Kara (Shawn) Williams; and the jewels of her eyes, nephew Rylan, and nieces Kate and Alexandra, all of whom she loved fiercely. Their Anny was very involved with their daily lives, always trying to stay up on their socials and spoiling them every chance she got. She is also survived by her aunts, Nancy (Steve) Marple, Sharon Haney, and Janet Rice; several cousins; and a multitude of dear friends with whom she enjoyed spending time.
Her professional accolades included Director of Health System Relations at Ball Memorial Hospital and other positions at Biomet, now Biomet Zimmer, Mercy Health System in Youngstown, Ohio and various other orthopedic and healthcare companies in central Indiana.
She volunteered her time on the boards of the Muncie Symphony Orchestra, Muncie-Delaware County Chamber of Commerce and currently served on the board for EcoREHAB, an organization that turns abandoned homes into sustainable housing.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, William and Reanelle Heritage; paternal grandparents, Cecil and Ruth Craig; an uncle, Brent Heritage; and an aunt, June (Robert) Fox.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 11, 2026, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Burial will be in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria.
