Bellmont hosted a quality team in the Wayne Generals Monday evening, falling in straight sets in three matches early on before showing some grit at No. 1 and No. 3 singles and ending the night with a 4-1 loss.
After Wayne secured the victory early on with three quick wins, Hayden Huss did his best to hold on and battle back in the second set against Wayne’s No. 1, Sebastian Apodaca. The pair of seniors went to a second-set tiebreak, but Wayne ultimately scored another point.

The highlight for the Bellmont Braves was the play of James Miller at No. 3 singles. Miller took the opening set in his singles match at 6-2, but couldn’t close out the match and fell 7-5 to Jayden Harris. The two went into the third set as the only varsity players still on the court and in the heat, Miller and Harris went all the way to the tiebreaker. Miller prevailed, 10-4.
