Former South Adams baseball standout Mike Dull was one of six people honored in Fort Wayne Sunday by the Northeast Indiana Baseball Association.
Dull, Rich Dunno and Pat (Bubba) McMahon were inducted into the NEIBA Hall of Fame.
Dunno is Owner/CEO at Ground Force Sports LLC-King of the Hill-Queen of the Hill-King of the Swing. McMahon is owner-operator of McMahon’s Best-One Auto and Tire Repair and baseball coach at Canterbury High School.
Also honored were Zach Hosier, who received the Colin Lister Award, and John Nolan, presented the Bob Parker Award.
Hosier, owner/operator of Talon Custom Construction in Fort Wayne, played at Leo High School and Indiana Tech and is a Fort Wayne Baseball Federation supporter.
Lister (1927-2010) was a long-time supporter of amateur and professional sports in Fort Wayne, at one time the owner of the Fort Wayne Komets.
Nolan is the play-by-play announcer for the Fort Wayne TinCaps. That award is given in honor of those who contribute to baseball in a manner that is reminiscent of former photographer and commercial artist Parker (1915-98).
Also honored was Bishop Dwenger High School’s Brayton Thomas, named Dick Crumback/NEIBA High School Baseball Player of the Year.
Dull was a member of the 1982 South Adams team which finished 27-6-1, winning a SemiState championship and becoming the school’s first baseball team to move into the State Finals.
He went on to an outstanding career at the University of South Alabama and played four seasons in the Montreal Expos chain.
Dull, who turns 61 this month, resides in Cicero, Indiana.
