Adams Central gave Norwell much more of a fight than the 5-0 score will show, but the Knights were the better team Friday night and deservedly won a third consecutive sectional title with a sweep of the Jets.
The Knights clinched the victory with a win at No. 2 doubles after quick victories at No. 1 doubles and No. 3 singles.

Melanie Bertsch took Delaney Hoover to a third-set tiebreak after taking the second set 6-2, but fell in the tiebreak 10-3.

That left Hillary Tobias playing Addy Heyerly to stay alive as an individual in the singles tournament. Tobias, a senior, had bounced back from an opening-set loss to beat Heyerly 6-0 in the second set. Heyerly flipped that script and broke Tobias’s serve and ended her career, 6-0 in the third.

The Knights will continue their postseason run against Manchester next week and that match will also be at Bluffton.
