The Adams County Community Foundation is pleased to announce that the Boys & Girls Club of Adams County has recently been awarded a grant toward the purchase of a vehicle vinyl wrap for a recently-acquired all-white, fifteen-passenger van to transport children to and from special outings. The new vehicle wrap distinguishes the van and also serves as advertising for the club and the good work that it does in the county.
The Boys & Girls Club works to provide opportunities to club members that they may not normally have, going to places like the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo, Science Central, Skyzone, and other local places like the 4-H Fair, City Pools, and businesses to look at career possibilities.
Heath Moser, Boys & Girls Club Executive Director, expressed appreciation to the ACCF for this support. Kenny Ketzler, ACCF Board member and grants committee member, added that the ACCF is pleased to provide this support to help create more learning opportunities for the kids and the staff at the Club.
This ACCF grant was made possible through unrestricted funds sponsored by the Jordan Fuelling and Daniel Niblick family Community Enrichment Funds.
Jordan Fuelling, along with Connor Brite and Trevor Ortiz, were on their way home when tragedy struck and changed the lives of countless friends and family in a fatal car accident. This fund was established as a memorial and in response to the outpouring of support from family and friends. The fund is to provide support for Decatur Area programs and projects that support youth and athletics.
The Daniel Niblick Family Fund was established in 2004. The long, respectable history of the Niblick family is recorded back to 1866 when Jesse Niblick and John Crawford purchased the landmark Niblick store in downtown Decatur. Starting in 1930, Dan Niblick, with children Harold and Mildred, operated the store, referred to simply as: Niblick’s. Best remembered by local residents, siblings Harold and Mildred Niblick operated the store until it closed in January of 1996.
