One project has been completed and another is ongoing at the Adams County Historical Society’s Dugan Museum in Decatur.
Society officials praised the efforts of Robin’s Stained Glass Studio in Fort Wayne for helping recreate leaded glass patterned sidelights in the museum’s vestibule.
“This was not a short nor easy project, but the end results were beautiful,” officials said.
They also thanked the Adams County Community Foundation for a grant which helped finish the project.
The original patterned sidelights were stolen many years ago.
Meanwhile, two historical society board members, Jack Bertsch and Walt Reiter, sanded the solid oak floors throughout the first floor of the museum.
Included are the cigar room, library, foyer, inglenook, dining room, vestibule and grand stairs.
Staining the floors recently started and will likely take up most of the month of May, officials said.
“In between sanding and staining, other volunteers have stepped up to devoid the rooms of all the sanding dust. It is quite the job,” they noted.
The museum is located on Monroe St., between Fourth and Fifth streets.
