It was a total team effort Tuesday night as the Adams Central Jets jumped out to a 6-1 lead and held on for a 7-6 victory in the ACAC against Bluffton in Monroe.
Lilli Jackson was dominant early on for the home team, striking out five in five innings of work and allowing just one earned run.

Jackson’s teammates staked her to an early lead with RBI hits by Jozie Zimmerman, Izzy Isch and Melina Peralez in the first inning.
Athena Schwartz knocked in a run in the next inning with a sacrifice fly.

Bluffton scored a run on a botched rundown between third and home, but AC answered right back with two runs in the bottom of the inning. That rally was sparked by a double from Peralez and was aided by a bases-loaded walk to Baylee Smith.

Bluffton scored three times after an AC pitching change in the sixth inning, but a good throw by Melina Peralez ended the inning and killed the rally.
The Tigers threatened to tie the game in the seventh with another rally after Jenna Cook got the first two batters.

Bluffton loaded the bases thanks to an error and a walk, but Cook took major satisfaction in striking out the final batter to win the game.
The Jets were drawn against South Adams in the upcoming sectional and the winner will have to play Bluffton in the semifinals, meaning these two teams certainly have a chance of meeting again. The Jets are now 7-4 on the season.
