South Adams traveled to Ohio to participate in the Ansonia Relays Friday night and finished in fourth place, beating out ACAC rival Jay County.
The team will be back at home Tuesday night when they host Southern Wells.
Notes & Results:
-The Starfires’ 4×800 team ran their best time of the year and finished in third place.
-Coach Anderson’s 4×400 team also ran a season best, taking second to the hosts, Ansonia, by a quarter of a second.
-Uri Gutierrez had the most impressive performance of the night for the Stars, winning the individual competition for the discus with an outstanding throw of 141 feet, a new PR. Gutierrez had not gone over 130 prior to Friday night. He and teammate AJ Thompson finished second as a team. Thompson had his best throw of the season at 100 feet even.
