With heavy rain in the forecast for the next couple of days, Adams County authorities are warning motorists to beware of high water over roadways. Recently, several motorists got stranded in high water when they drove around barricades and then tried to drive through high water…and failed.
Assistant County Highway Superintendent Paul Zerby told WZBD’s Ed Thurman about such problems and how his department is trying to get the word out to not go around the barricades…
Zerby says his department is considering using bigger barricades in the future during flooding.
Meanwhile, new buggy plates for horse-drawn wagons are on sale in Adams County through mid-May. The plates are required each year for all horse-drawn wagons and buggies that use public roadways. The plates are on sale at the Adams County Highway Department each day through May 15.
