The Adams County Historical Society is planning a Solar Eclipse Event at Riverside Center in Decatur on Monday, April 8, which is the day a total solar eclipse will be visible here (weather permitting).
The event will be a fundraiser for the historical society.
A news release said there will be free event viewing and parking, and food will be available from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Food will include Sloppy Joes, creamy chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, Coney dogs, cookies and chips, with soda pop and water also available.
CORKS/BRUSHES: Two days later, on Wednesday, April 10, the historical society will hold its Corks & Brushes event at The Hive downtown.
The class will include all art supplies necessary to complete a painting on a 10 x 10 inch wrapped canvas
Ruth Green will provide step by step instruction, a news release said.
The cost will be $40, or $35 for historical society members (check or cash only). All materials will be provided.
Snacks and wine will be available.
Hours of the event will be 6 to 8 p.m.
