Playing their first nine-hole match of the season, the Bellmont Braves came away with a ten-stroke victory in non-conference action on the back nine at Cross Creek before the rain rolled in Wednesday night.
The match marked the return of Abigail Blythe to the lineup and she did not disappoint on her home course, shooting a team-best 48 with the help of three pars.

Ella Hockemeyer, who led Bellmont in the opening two invites, cut four strokes from her round on the back at last week’s invitational and finished just one stroke behind Blythe with a 49.

“The first dual of the year and the first W,” remarked long-time head coach Mike Macke at his delight on the team’s opening victory on the eve of the first day of school at the high school.
“It was nice to have Abigail back and she added the low round, but we had three girls under 50, which is great to see in our first dual!”
Krosbi Butler made a birdie on No. 10 en route to her round of 49.

In junior varsity action, Morgan Huss delivered a solid round of 59.
