Downtown Decatur will be hustlin’ and bustlin’ the latter part of this week with three major events scheduled on consecutive days.
It all begins Thursday night on the Madison St. Plaza, with annually one of the most popular bands in the Summer Concert Series, the Sweetwater All-Stars, performing. Friday, the city will put on its annual Sculpture Tour downtown.
Then, Saturday evening, it’s back to the plaza for the annual Connor Brite’s Wildflowers benefit.
The Sweetwater All-Star Band will open at 6 p.m. Thursday and play until 9.
Intermission will feature Jayleena Hill (photo), a 14-year-old Bellmont High School student. A new innovation to the concert series this year is having high school-age talent perform at intermissions.

Lola Spanks and the Pinkeyes were a big hit when they performed at intermission on opening night.
The 12th annual Sculpture Tour will be held in and around the courthouse square downtown Friday. Activities for children, live music, food vendors, dance performances and more are scheduled.
Plein Air artists will be working throughout the area in the morning and early afternoon.
The announcement of awards is set for 5:45 p.m., followed by a “welcome” by Mayor Dan Rickord, and the unveiling of statues beginning at 6:15 p.m. (See earlier story for a complete schedule of events.)
The second annual Connor Brite’s Wildflowers Benefit will be held Saturday on the plaza.
Proceeds from the concert, including T-shirt sales, will go to the Wildflowers program which is providing free music lessons to Adams County students.
The event will be held from 5 to 11 p.m., featuring food trucks, live music, 50/50 raffle, and T-shirt sales.
