Jeremy Rauch, a Bellmont High School graduate, has resigned as boys basketball coach at Snider High School in Fort Wayne.
Rauch cited “family reasons” for his decision to leave the Snider post after seven seasons.
He said he will continue as an English teacher at Snider.
Rauch had just two losing seasons as Panthers head coach, including a 3-21 record last season. In the previous six seasons his teams posted a record of 87-57, with Sectional championships in 2020 and 2022.
Overall, in 13 seasons, Rauch compiled a record of 169-132. He was head boys basketball coach at Southridge in Dubois County (conference champs in 2014 and 2015) and DeKalb before coming to Snider.
In a post on Twitter, Rauch said: “It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this letter to resign from my position as basketball coach. I have enjoyed my time with the program immensely and will always cherish the memories I have made with the players and coaching staff.
“For family reasons, I am unable to give my all to the Snider basketball program, which it needs to continue to thrive. It was not an easy decision to make, and I have spent a lot of thought and prayer before coming to this conclusion.
“I want to assure you that this decision is in no way a reflection of my experience with the school administration or anyone involved in the program. I look forward to continuing in my teaching capacity at Snider High School.
After graduating from Bellmont in 2003, Rauch went to Indiana University to obtain his degree. He served as student manager for the basketball team, three years under Mike Davis and one season under Kelvin Sampson.
