Beau Baker broke the Bellmont Braves out of their losing ways with a strong start, pitching into the sixth inning, and struck out eight while allowing just three hits as the team went on the road and won at Woodlan, 9-2.
Gavin Krull highlighted the Bellmont box score with a solo home run from the bottom of the lineup and Oliver Werling picked up two base hits after getting the start behind the plate for coach Tom Montgomery’s team.
Jack Scheumann and Will Baker set the table for a couple of Bellmont rallies with two hits apiece at the top of the Braves’ lineup.
Dylan Velez and Eli Laurent each knocked in runs with doubles to aide the Bellmont cause.
Austin Christner got the final four outs, allowing just one hit to see out the win ahead of a big clash between the Braves and rival Norwell Thursday.
