Pushing their season record to 9-4 with one week to go until sectional, the Bellmont Braves breezed past New Haven in high school tennis Tuesday, winning 5-0 without dropping a set in varsity or JV action.
“The singles courts continued right on rolling last night,” said head coach Kyle Arnold. “Both doubles teams picked up their first conference wins of the year.”

Arnold said the result was a nice break from the Braves’ recent run of chewing fingernails at the end of the night with the score tied 2-2.
“I’ll never complain about any win but it was nice to give some coaching attention to the JVs as the varsity girls had everything under control and we were able to encourage some of the younger players.”
Arnold was especially happy with the play of the doubles teams.
“It was a good confidence builder, especially on the front end of a four-night stretch of matches this week. I am hopeful they can catch a little momentum this week and ride that into sectional next week.”
