The courts at Bluffton High School were filled with postseason action Wednesday at the IHSAA sectional and when the dust settled, it was South Adams and Bluffton still standing. Taking very different routes to a win, the two sides will meet Thursday in the sectional championship match.

Bluffton won 5-0 in their match with the sweep of the Adams Central Flying Jets.

Note: No results or scores were provided by Adams Central for the match.

It was a much different and more competitive match on the northern courts, with South Adams narrowly beating Bellmont, 3-2.

The difference in the match came in the strength of the Starfires’ top two singles slots. Kade Sprunger and Cole Hyman won the battle for South Adams, with both matches featuring seniors versus seniors.

Bellmont did claim wins at No. 3 singles, with Caleb Coats winning in three sets.

The No. 1 doubles team also won for Bellmont and they’ll shift over to the individual side of the IHSAA tournament. Raiden Knittle fed off the fire and energy of doubles mate Kasey Teeter to beat James Lehman and Ben Dubach in straight sets.
