The South Adams Starfires won all three singles matches to win a hard-earned match against the Blackhawk Christian Braves Tuesday, 3-2.
The wins were anything but easy at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, though, and the home court advantage may have just made the difference.
Kade Sprunger’s strong season continued and he took care of business quickly on the No. 1 court, but the other two Starfire singles players dropped their opening sets by identical 6-4 scores.
Cole Hyman needed a tiebreak to win the second set and then cruised to a 6-1 win in the third, while Griffin Hill needed the tiebreak to clinch the team match in his third set.
The Braves were too good in the varsity doubles matches and took them both as consolation prizes.
The Starfires will wrap up their regular season with an ACAC match against Jay County Thursday.
