When the Wayne Generals won the opening sets at No. 2 and No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles, a victory for the Bellmont Braves did not look likely Monday morning.
Coach Mason Vrablic’s team won just two games across those three sets in short time and the other two courts were still battling deep into the opener.

James Miller fought his way to a 6-4 win at No. 1 singles and the top doubles team of Raiden Knittle and Kasey Teeter needed a tiebreak to win their first set.
Caleb Coats turned it around, though, turning a 6-0 loss in the first set into a match and ultimately taking the second at 7-5.

Once Wayne wrapped up their other two leads early, it was up to the rest of the Braves to pull off the victory and the task became even harder when James Miller dropped his second set 6-2 to TJ McIntosh.
Knittle and Teeter secured the first BHS point with another 7-5 win in a tiebreak for a tight straight-set win.
Coats then smashed his opponent in the third, winning 6-1 and Miller bounced back to decide the match in the home Braves’ favor.

The Braves will be back in action Thursday at Kreager Park against Blackhawk Christian.
