HOAGLAND – The Heritage Patriots began their highly-anticipated season Thursday against Norwell, sweeping the Knights in straight sets.
The Patriots came out swinging and never stopped their offensive attack all night.
“The four freshman showed up big and contributed with excellent play on the defense and offense,” said head coach Shelly Schwartz afterwards. “Our two setters moved the ball with a very fast tempo to give their hitters some excellent opportunities.”

Leading the way in kills was Mallory Ehrman with 13 kills and just one error. Kinley Galentine had nine kills.
Maya Ehrman had eight kills and Elena Lybarger had six. Heritage had a total of 39 kills and six hitting errors.

Lybarger also had three blocks for a total team effort of 10 blocks for the night.

Kinley Galentine had three aces to lead the serving.
Grace Scheumann had 17 digs and Kierstyn Hess had.
Coach Schwartz called the opening win a “total team effort with every varsity player contributing for a win.”

The MVP of the game was a pair of freshman in Mallory Ehrman and Kinley Galentine.
“They set the pace of the game and never looked back.”
Heritage will play at the West Noble Invite Saturday.
