Corbin Saalfrank threw three innings of shutout relief to lock down the Churubusco Eagles on Heritage’s way to an other victory Monday night. A big night at the plate by Eli Rauner and Kingston Galentine gave the Patriots a 9-4 victory in non-conference play.

The home Patriots trailed after three and a half innings 3-2, but a five-run effort in the bottom of the fourth gave Saalfrank the lead he needed to seize the game.

It all started in the fourth with a base hit to load the bases with nobody out by Beau Stoppenhagen.
Busco then issued three bases-loaded walks to go from leading to trailing. Rauner then reached on an error to score two runs and build a 7-3 lead.

Garrett Oliver started the night for Heritage, throwing four innings and striking out three runs. He allowed four runs (three earned), before giving way to Saalfrank.

Galentine and Rauner were both dangerous on the base paths. They both scored in the sixth, putting pressure on the Busco defense.
The Patriots did not have (or need) an extra-base hit in the game. Churubusco committed two costly errors.
Heritage will go back to ACAC play Tuesday night when they travel to Bluffton for a showdown with the Tigers.
