Two teams hoping to gain an early leg up on the local competition met on the tennis courts at Norwell Monday and it was the host Knights who won the opening set in four of five matches to take the lead, holding on for a 3-2 win over Adams Central.
Both teams are hoping for a return to sectional success in May, but it will be Norwell who consider themselves top dog after Monday.
The Knights and Jets both face a busy and heavy schedule as the weather finally warms up and clears up with just four weeks until they could face each other in the sectional.
