Both the boys and girls track and field teams for Heritage had strong performances at their own Patriot Relays Saturday, but it was the girls who claimed first place, while the boys settled for second behind rival New Haven.
Ava Johnson equaled her career best in the high jump to win first place for the Patriots.
Alexa Walter broke the meet record with her first-place throw in the shot, while Olivia Lybarger took second in the long jump and in the 100. Walter also won the discus.
For the boys, Alistair Dunaway won the discus with a career best for Heritage.
