A big first half by Tytus Lehman and some clutch free throw shooting by Derek McKean gave the South Adams Starfires a home non-conference win over Lakewood Park Friday, 64-55.
Lehman scored twelve points in the opening half as the Stars jumped out to a 15-9 lead after eight minutes, but the Panthers fought back to tie it at 28 at halftime.
The Starfires had their biggest offensive quarter of the game in the third, with five different players scoring for coach Kyle Roe to build a three-point lead.

McKean hit five shots from the free throw line and Gavin Herring added three more as South Adams held on for the win, pulling away late.
The Starfires will learn their fate for the upcoming 2A sectional at Bluffton on Sunday night with the IHSAA draw live on 92.7 FM.
