The Bellmont Braves took their first step in the state tournament Friday with an easy 77-47 win in the semifinals at Mississinewa in the 3A sectional.

Ranked #5 in the final team poll of the season, the Braves will enter Saturday as the only ranked team left in the northern half of the state in 3A, making them heavy favorites to eventually reach the State Finals.

The Braves will take on Mississinewa, who came from behind to defeat Heritage in the first game Friday.
Ashley Bleke led the Braves with 22 points.
