The Adams Central Jets warmed up for the postseason with an unusual opponent, hosting the Fort Wayne Homeschool Hawks on Monday night after drawing the bye in the upcoming sectional tournament. While the Jets ultimately lost the game, it certainly proved to be a worthy endeavor with the next game (against Luers) still days away.

Kate Fisher nailed four threes on the night and finished with a team-high 22 points to lead the way for the Jets. She was joined on the scoresheet by Ava Stafford’s 21 points. Stafford caught fire in the fourth quarter with a nine-point flurry.

The Jets looked well on their way to victory at halftime, enjoying a 35-26 lead.
The Hawks, however, ratcheted up the defense out of the break and held Adams Central to just one bucket – a Kate Fisher three – in the third quarter. The visitors led by two points heading into the fourth quarter.

Claire Boyle saw the game out for the Hawks, scoring eight points in the final stanza to lead all scorers with 25 at the end of the night.
Friday’s sectional game against Bishop Luers can be heard live on 92.7 FM, WZBD.
