In an expected move, Matt Schultz has been appointed the City of Decatur’s new operations manager.
The announcement was made Friday via Facebook.
Schultz replaces Jeremy Gilbert, who resigned to take a position as project manager with Brooks Construction of Fort Wayne.
Schultz has been Gilbert’s assistant since January of 2017.
“Matt officially begins his new role on Monday, November 3, and we’re excited for his continued leadership and commitment to our city,” the Facebook post said. “Please join us in congratulating Matt on this well-deserved promotion!”
As operations manager, Schultz will oversee several city departments as well as the park board.
