Heritage captured the first set against a talented Carroll squad Thursday night at home, but dropped the next three to hand Carroll their 20th win of the year and drop the Patriots’ record to 12-3. The two teams will find out their sectional pairings on Sunday night’s pairings show.
Zeke Litchfield led the Patriots in kills with twelve. He and Geremew Gerber had four blocks apiece at the net.
Carroll won the match 21-25, 25-21, 28-26, 25-16.

The Patriots will round out their regular season with three more matches – against Wayne, Woodlan and Northrop – before postseason play begins.

Coach Tigulis’s team is slated to participate in a field that includes Bellmont, Blackhawk Christian, North Side, South Side, Wayne, Homestead, Huntington North, New Haven and Norwell in two weeks for an inaugural IHSAA sectional crown.

Graham Simmons had ten kills and Braden Walter had eight in the losing effort. Simmons also had two aces.
Litchfield led the team in digs with 14. Chase Buuck had twelve.
