Using the momentum from a come-from-behind victory over Heritage Wednesday night and attempting to overcome a tough loss to Carroll Thursday, the Bellmont Braves bounced right back and knocked off Delta to advance in this weekend’s eight-team tourney in Kokomo with a 14-7 win.
Bella Ashley cranked out two doubles, a single and scored three times, while Finnley Godsey had a triple and two singles, driving in two runs and scoring twice.
Ashley did not pitch as the Braves saved her for Saturday and instead, it was Taylor Bauer coming in from center field and pitching. Bauer struck out five and allowed just three earned runs.
Bellmont put the game away early, batting around and scoring nine runs in the top of the first.
