Kenzie Neuenschwander finished a perfect 4 for 4 as the South Adams Starfires scored in nearly every inning and pushed four runs across in the bottom of the sixth to ten-run Winchester in an 11-1 victory in the season opener.
Neuenschwander doubled twice and led the team with three runs knocked in to lead the batting order.

Addie Baker (see below) pitched a complete game in the first outing of her senior year, striking out eleven, while allowing just three singles and a double to the Falcons. The run allowed was unearned due to a SA error.



The home team struck first with three runs in the bottom of the first inning after holding Winchester scoreless. Bekah Patterson tripled and scored and Baker helped her own cause with a single to put runners at the corners. Avery Brown drove home the third run with a double through the infield.

Patterson tripled in the second again, driving home a run.

Reagan Bollenbacher made it 5-0 with one of her two hits on the night.

Winchester’s only run off Baker came when they strung together two hits to lead off the fourth, taking advantage of passed ball to get into better position. The Starfire ace got two strikeouts to get out of the inning without any further damage.
Cassidi Ruble settled down for Winchester in the fourth, putting the Stars down 1-2-3, but Baker started another rally in the fifth and Neuenschwander had the key hit to push the lead to 7-1.

Neuenschwander’s fourth hit of the night, a double, pushed the score to 11-1 in the sizth and Reagan Bollenbacher ended the game with a single to left to push the margin to ten runs.

The Starfires host Wes-Del in a doubleheader Saturday, with the first game starting at 11 a.m.
