A seniors Valentine’s Day musical event in Decatur on Thursday will feature Bellmont graduate Aleena York.
York, accompanied by Carly Ingalls, will perform from 2-3 p.m. at the MERIT Center, 1109 Dayton Ave., in Decatur.

The event is open to the public. Admission will be free and light refreshments will be served.
The Adams County Council on Aging, which is located in the MERIT Center, will host the performance by York, with Thrivent as the sponsor.
“I’ve been singing ever since I could talk,” York once told WZBD.com.
“She’s been singing a lot; she loves it,” said her grandfather, Dan York, pastor of Grace Fellowship Church in Decatur.
The daughter of Kelly and Taya York of Decatur, Aleena is a 2016 graduate of Bellmont High School and graduated in 2018 from the University of St. Francis’ music technology program.
Aleena has performed throughout the area for several years, oftentimes with a band, including on the Madison St. Plaza in Decatur.
