The usual sterling performance by The Bulldogs, a huge crowd, and a car show on Thursday brought down the curtain on the Decatur Chamber of Commerce’s scheduled 2026 Summer Concert Series.
The entertainment isn’t over, however.
Adams County Memorial Hospital’s annual Senior Living event is on tap next Thursday on the Madison St. Plaza, followed a week later by Derek Jones & 50 South, a Chamber concert rescheduled a few weeks ago.
Per usual, The Bulldogs attracted a crowd which filled the plaza Thursday night.
It marked the ninth consecutive year (correction from an earlier story) the Fort Wayne-based band has played the summer series. In fact, there have now been nine years or concerts and nine years of Bulldogs!
The band’s history goes back over 30 years.
They were known as Spike & the Bulldogs for years, then became simply The Bulldogs after Spike retired in 2013.
Weather, which has caused some problems with the Chamber series this year, was ideal Thursday.
The Chamber’s annual Motorsports Festival also was on Thursday’s entertainment card.
The popular car show was in it 25th year of Chamber sponsorship.
