South Adams climbed out of the basement of the ACAC with a conference road win at Southern Wells as coach Kyle Roe’s team won consecutive games for the first time this season, beating the Raiders 62-45.
It did not look like the kind of game that the Starfires would win by double digits as the two teams entered the locker rooms at half time with the home side up 24-21, but it was a remarkable half by coach Roe’s team that turned the tides in the visitors’ favor.
Gavin Herring and Tytus Lehman erupted for a third quarter that coach Roe will want to watch over and over again in film sessions, blitzing the home team for a total of 27 points, with 21 of them coming from Lehman and Herring.
On the defensive end, the Stars used good defense and poor free throw shooting by the Raiders to limit Landon Johnson to just a couple of buckets in the third quarter, securing a 48-36 lead heading into the final stanza.

The Starfires saw out the game at the free throw line, knocking down six from the stripe to pick up the victory.
Lehman led the stars with 24, while Herring had 17.
Isaac Scott had nine for South Adams and Hunter Fields had eight.
