Cole Hyman remained unbeaten Monday, but the doubles dominance by Bishop Luers was enough to hand the visiting Knights a close, 3-2 victory.
Hyman is now 14-0 after winning the third-set super tiebreak, 10-7, against Jack Klinger at No. 2 singles.
Kade Sprunger, who has surpassed Hyman as the team’s new No. 1, was handed just his second loss of the season in a tough match against Luers’ Zach Calderon.
The Starfires are set to have a few days off before preparing for sectional by playing at Bluffton Thursday.
