Jake Hackman’s spectacular free kick goal highlighted an impressive night by the Bellmont Braves Tuesday, sweeping the Norwell Knights in JV and varsity action on the first evening of back-to-back-to-back away matches for coach Derek Trobeck’s team.
All four Bellmont goals came in the opening 40, with Hackman scoring a second and the Braves getting scores from Taufeeq Ally and Colsen White, as well.
The Braves converted all four shots on target into goals in the first half.
Hackman’s free kick goal was, of course, unassisted, but the other three tallies came on assists from three different players: Owen Adams, Drew Kolter and Evan Sovine.
Xavior Palacios made two saves in the first half, then seven more as Norwell piled on the pressure late in the game.
Norwell’s goals were scored by Hudson Gerbers and Simon Isch.
Bellmont won the JV match on a goal by Luke Ruble, 1-0. Fellow freshman Malachi LaVine provided the assist.
The Braves play at Woodlan Wednesday night and will travel to Wayne Thursday to complete the tough stretch.
