Adams County Historical Society officials report “a great turnout” at the August 11 reopening of the Dugan Museum in Decatur.
Restoration efforts had delayed the normal summer opening of the museum until the August 11 Open House.
Located at 420 W. Monroe St., the museum will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. this Sunday. Admission will be $5 per person.

CARS & MORE: Meanwhile, officials are gearing up for the historical society’s annual car show, and beginning to plan for a popular October event.
The car show will be held Sunday, Sept. 8 (Sept. 15 rain date)
on the museum grounds from 1 to 4 p.m.
The first floor of the museum will open for touring during those hours.
There will be no admission charge. Popcorn and sno cones will be available and door prizes will be awarded.
Museum officials said vintage cars of 1950 and older will be on display, along with antique fire trucks and motorcycles.
The registration fee for vehicles is $10. To register, contact Walt Reiter, 260-402-7540, or wpdjreiter@yahoo.com.
Across the street from the museum that day, the St. Marys Fall Fest will be holding its second day of events.
HAUNTING: Officials are also making plans for the annual Halloween Nights at the Museum.
The museum is completely transformed into a haunted mansion for an event which has proven to be quite popular.
The haunted nights will be held every Friday and Saturday night in October, 7-10 p.m.
