Playing at home with a whole host of varsity debutantes, the Adams Central tennis team got off to a promising start to the 2024 season despite falling to the Bishop Dwenger Saints, 4-1.
Head coach Brent Doster noted that Tuesday was “a great and competitive match to the end.” Several matches dropped by the Jets went to third sets and tiebreaks and with so many new faces in the lineup against a traditionally strong opponent, there’s room for plenty of optimism in the Jets’ camp for the season.
Note: Bishop Dwenger did not provide names of their players.
The new No. 1 for the Jets is Logan Heiman, while Krew Clark slots in at the No. 2 singles spot. Clark’s match Tuesday went all the way to the third set tiebreak before ultimately going the way of the Saints.

The lone win for the Jets came from Zach Frank, who won in straight sets at No. 3 singles.
Both AC doubles teams fell in three-set matches.
