The South Adams Starfires only needed five innings to beat Wapahani Wednesday and claim their 19th win of the regular season as Allison Palomo scored with one out in the bottom of the fifth to trigger the ten-run rule and end the non-conference contest with a 10-0 score.
Gracy Bixler gave Addie Baker the night off and threw a great game, allowing just three hits in her five shutout innings. She struck out three and walked just one.
South Adams needed just four hits to score their ten runs as Wapahani aided the home team with five different errors. Seven walks issued by Wapahani pitching did not help the cause.
The big hits of the night went to Avery Brown and Sofia Schwartz. Each had a double.
The Stars will play Heritage at home Thursday on a game set to be broadcast on WZBD, 92.7 FM between two of the better teams in the ACAC. The Starfires have already clinched the conference title with their 6-0 record.
