After a two-week pause, the Bellmont Braves welcomed Norwell back to the BHS diamond and made quick work of the Knights, adding on to their existing 10-2 lead to play just over an inning before sending Norwell back on the bus with a 12-2 defeat.
The game was paused at 10-2 after a Taylor Bauer home run on a Friday night featured broadcast on WZBD and was unable to be finished after the deluge. That left both teams having to wait for an opening in their mutual schedule and set up Saturday’s cameo.

Bella Ashley did not allow a hit and struck out two in the only inning of work she had Saturday. It appeared she was going to have to pitch a sixth inning, but a two-out rally with doubles by Aaliyah Faurote and Emily Bleke set up Makenzie Mankey with a chance to walk it off with the run rule. She stroked a single to center to score Bleke and finish off Norwell at 12-2.
The Braves finish their NE8 slate with a home game against East Noble Monday, then play three straight SAC teams to finish off the regular season.
