Ryne Thornton pitched a two-hitter and shut out the South Adams Starfires across seven fine innings as the Norwell Knights defeated SA 4-0.
Thornton struck out nine and walked just three.
The Starfires committed four errors in the game, hurting the efforts of the four Starfire pitchers. Jax Wanner got the start and was relieved in the second inning by Derek Weaver. Both hurlers were touched for two runs. Coincidentally, both Wanner and Weaver had the only two hits for the Stars in the game.
Manny Juarez and Kane Sturwold each threw an inning of scoreless relief.
