In one of the closest team finishes in recent memory, the Bellmont Braves claimed the annual Bi-County title with a three-stroke victory over Adams Central on the Jets’ home course.
Key to the Bellmont win was the four-stroke margin for ace Owen Minnick, who was the only player to break par, going -3.
Minnick birdied both Par 5s on the front, then went on an absolute tear on the back, writing a “3” on his scorecard six times for an outstanding 31. Both Par 5s were mastered by the Braves’ No. 1, who registered eagles on Hole 11 and Hole 17.
