After losing in a pitchers’ duel to Woodlan Tuesday night, the Heritage Patriots found themselves on the wrong side of a slugfest against Homestead and fell, 9-6.
Heritage had a great night at the top of the lineup, with Abriyah James and Danica Fuller each collecting three hits, including a double for each. James knocked in three runs.
Libby Cain and Avi Washington each had two hits in the loss for the home side.
After ace Danica Fuller pitched against Woodlan and Tuesday and with an ACAC game slated for Thursday against Adams Central, the Patriots started with Corinne Bowers in the circle. She went four innings and allowed four earned runs before being replaced by Fuller.
Homestead had Danica’s number, however, and also tagged Fuller for four earned runs. She struck out four and was saddled with the loss after entering the game with the score tied 5-5.
